These Arteza Watercolor paints set are great! The paint does dry chalky, but you like my paint to dry matte instead of satin. Only encountered granulation if the paint was not properly mixed into the brush.

Daniel Smith user, you personally love granulation. These paints are perfect for a person wanting to try out watercolors at an inexpensive price.

Arteza Watercolor Paint, Set of 60 Colors/Tubes

These paints are very vibrant. If you’re looking for watercolors to make your own pallet, these aren’t really made for letting them dry on a palette and activating with water. While you can reactivate them with water, the pans will dry and crack and not give you the same results. While they are great directly out of the tube I wouldn’t suggest them for custom pallets. Otherwise a lot of bang for your buck and great for beginners.
